Insight in avoiding delay in destiny

*MONDAY PRAISE AND PRAYER SCHOOL*
*(08-04-2019)*
*MINISTERING: PASTOR EBENEZER OKECHUKWU*
*TOPIC: INSIGHT FOR AVOIDING DELAYS IN YOUR DESTINY*
*TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 1:6*

Life is not lost in death; it is lost through unfulfilled destiny. Many times, when the devil sees he cannot abort the fulfillment of your destiny, he will want to delay you from the fulfillment of that destiny because he knows that delay often could be equal to denial; Many times destiny delayed can be as good as destiny denied. When he sees that you are determined to pursue your destiny, he makes you remain on the right lane but not making any progress-  A man who is on the right track but not making progress is as good as the man who is on the wrong track.

The children would have spent only 11days in their journey from Egypt to Canaan yet they spent 40years. The word "yet" is used, meaning that the delay was not necessary. "Yet" meaning that there is something they would have done and the delay would have been averted. God does not want you to spend 40years doing something you can do for 11days. He does not want you to spend 10years doing a 4 years course. He doesn't want you to be among those at a spot marking time. His plan for you is not to seat on a barber’s sit turning round without going anywhere.
One of the descriptions the scripture uses for a child of God is light. What is faster than light? Nothing! By God’s definition of you, you are expected to fulfill destiny fast. By three and half years Jesus had finished everything; And the Bible said what Jesus accomplished if they were to be written down no book can contain it.
Paul as a middle-aged man when called by the Lord received such momentum after God called him and accomplished more than the other apostles. It takes speed to accomplish your destiny.

Do you realize that when you wake and you have nothing to do, the day is longer, but when you have something doing, you wish you have more hours in a day. Why you have a lot of time is because you are living without a sense of purpose, but when you realize purpose, you will discover that the time is short.

*INSIGHT FOR AVOIDING DELAYS IN YOUR DESTINY*

*1. You need insight into the power of obedience:* Each time you disobey a divine instruction you experience retrogression. Each time you are lazy about taking a step God wants you to take, you are moving yourself backward. One of the ways you can set yourself backwards is not by going backward but by standing in one place. Life is moving forward, people are moving forward, if you stay in one position the result is that you will always be struggling to catch up with your mates.
In the book of Deuteronomy 1:6,23, God said to the children of Israel to move in an take the land but they decided to spy the land, and when they saw the giants living in the land, sons of Anak, they were afraid. If you don’t want to delay in your destiny don’t delay obedience. When God says take a step, take that step. You need insight into the power of obedience.

*2. Insight into the deeper purposes of God:* I have discovered that beyond the seeming outward cause that God is pursing is something deeper that He wants to achieve.
for example in the book of Deuteronomy 8- Manna  was sent to feed people who are hungry, but beyond feeding the people there was something God was teaching them. What was the lesson?  “It is not your hard work that will feed you but obedience to my word”. By giving them Manna God wanted to teach them a life of trust. Exodus 16:4, God said to them, when you take manna, don’t take for tomorrow. When the people decided to take for tomorrow, it was filled with maggots before the next morning. And when it was weekend, God said gather for the Sabbath day. The same Manna that spoilt overnight lasted for two days. God was teaching them that you are not living by Manna but by every word that comes out of my mouth. God has a higher purpose for what he is doing.

In Judges 3:1-2, beyond God punishing the children of Israel by not pursuing the nations living around for their refusal to war against them and for making covenants with them, God was saying, “I will leave the nations so I can teach the younger generation to war”. It takes insight to see what is on the inside, inside what God is doing, there is something God is doing- it takes insight to see what is on the inside.

God could have made the children of Israel disappear from Egypt and appear in Canaan, but he allowed them to face the enemies because the Canaan they were going was filled with enemies. His purpose was not just to carry weak children and dump them in Canaan, and when enemies confront them, they leave the land and run away. You must have insight into the deeper purposes of God, otherwise, you will keep running away from obstacles. Most of the obstacles you meet are a mirage, they are not there, they are only but posing to be there. You must realize that in any obstacle there is something God wants to achieve.

*3. Insight into the faithfulness of God:* This is the secret of Faith. Faith in God’s Faithfulness is, if he says he will give this land, then no matter the oppositions I have faith that God will give it to me; and because I have faith in God’s faithfulness, I move in the direction he wants me to move. Abraham's failure to see the faithfulness of God caused him further delay to have a child.

Many times, we want to follow short cuts, and they end up delaying us. It is because they usually involve compromise. Many people delay their destiny because of their doubt and compromise, and the root of those doubt and compromise is lack of insight into the faithfulness of God.

If you want God to give you speed in life and destiny, do these three things, they are destiny accelerators. When you are operating by them you will look slow but later you will discover you have moved with the speed of light.
