Prayer and spiritual discernment

*TEXT: 2ND SAMUEL 15:1-15; Psalm 55:1*

Sometimes we are sympathetic with our destroys so it becomes a problem when God wants to deal with them. Sometimes, out of lack of discernment we live with witches that cause of our problems and even feeding them. When the devil wants to deal with you, he uses people close to you. The Psalmist said, “the man who ate with me has lifted his hands against me”. You need discernment to know how to pray. You have discernment when you can tell good from evil, differentiate friends from enemies; when you know when to pray, “Father save them” and when to pray, “Father judge them”.  There are people that don’t change. There are “Sauls”(who later became Paul) and there are “Herods” (who died out of God’s judgement). There are people who will change and those that will never change.

Many times, the enemies that are trying to undo us and undo the church, are not the enemies you know; we need to pray against enemies within. Some of the people that are congratulating you are actually envying.

Absalom stole the heart of the men of Israel against David. He was manipulative for 40years. David needed discernment, because he was not aware. He conspired alongside Ahithophel ( David’s adviser) to dethrone David. The prayer of David was, “oh Lord, turn the advice of Ahithophel to foolishness”. We need to pray such prayers.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father! thank you for the word I just receive this morning.

2. Lord! sharpen my discernment, I don’t want to be taken unaware by the enemy.

3. Father! expose and disgrace any one hanging around me who is a tool in the hand of the enemy against my destiny.

4. Everlasting father! as we begin to pray this morning, turn the plans, wisdom and strategies of wicked men to foolishness. May they make mistakes that will undo them in Jesus name.

5. Everlasting father! hear our prayer, any man or woman, any person, any demon, that is conspiring against this church, to uproot it. Turn their counsel to foolishness and may your church triumph in Jesus name.

6. Everlasting father! we stand on your word this morning and we make demands for your judgement and justice, to afflict every evil man or woman that has refused to change from fight your poses for our lives, our church and our country (Psalm 55:19,23).

7. Father, thank you for victory, thank you for not letting wickedness triumph over our lives, church and nation in Jesus name.
